“A man that knows everything knows he knows nothing at all.” A quote by Erykah Badu The aforementioned quote is one of the deepest quotes every stated to me. The quote is very logical quote with endless possibilities of different literary interpretations from a reader. I personally believe it means just what is says; think about it how can a person know everything without knowing nothing. A very simple interpretation nothing is included in everything, so a person must know nothing in order to know everything, but that is just one point of view. A person that know everything can also be so far advance they question everything that is done out of confusion and lack of understanding. That person that knows it all may not be able to logically digest others actions and why they chose the route that they did. Everything comes down to understanding if a person doesn’t understand another’s logic they will sit and question. Questions lead to doubt or uncertainty, which changes the perception of knowing everything. There is another aspect of “A man that knows everything knows he knows nothing at all”, the more a person learns or knows the more doors that open up. With more and more doors opening up the more ignorant a person is to the new situation. The concept is basically simple that more you know the less you know over all a whole new flurry of questions will arising due a person’s new found knowledge. With knowing everything a person must come to understand that they truly know nothing because knowledge is ever changing and growing. Erykah Badu stated one of the greatest quotes with enough deep reasoning for a person to think and question everything they know while assuring everything they know at the same time.
Failure is not the only punishment for laziness; there is also the success of others. -- Jules Renard
Sometimes, people are not spurred into action by their own possible rewards but simply because they do not want someone else to do better. In the same way an older brother will take the last piece of cake simply to make sure his younger brother doesn't have it. Jules has brought to light that if someone is lazy, they suffer not only punishment, but also they must watch the success of others, success that might have been theirs. The lazy person must smile while their insides crawl with the knowledge that they had a chance for greatness and that someone else hardworking, or just plain faster, is enjoying 'their' success.
Unknown: “If you can afford only one newspaper, read the opposition’s.”
This quotation could be said by a person whose job was journalist or something about politics. We can not know anything about the author because there is no clue in the quotations. What we can say about the person is that he or she was someone who used to think about the positive and the negative thing of the life. Also we could say that he was someone important in his society and he had a power because you could understand that quotation in some many forms.
Between all the meanings that everybody could get in this sentence, ii want to choose the one which is more clearly, or it is the most clear for me. The meaning is that if you are not able to look at the things with another eyes, you should do it. What the author wants to tell us is, when you think you are right about something, and you are hundred percent sure of something, there could be a small possibility that you might be wrong. When you think that you know something, you really do not know anything. That sentence is a resume of all the quotation because it explains clearly what the quotation means.
"The man who doesn't read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read" by Samuel Clemens.
My analysis of this quote is a very simple one. A person can live out his or her life without knowing the pleasure that a great book can give. If you don't take the time to read, you might as well not know how to.
"If you keep your mind stayed on Jesus, he'll give you peace, that passes all understanding." Archbishop LeRoy Bailey Jr., Senior Pastor w:The First Cathedral From a sermon entitled: We Need GOD Delivered: June 14th,2007 at The First Cathedral. I feel that this is true because no man can give you the peace that jesus give you.
"Education is a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army." -- Edward Everett
The words of Mr. Everett are very similar to the, more popular, quote about a pen being mightier than the sword. The severity of his statement leaves a solemn impression upon the reader with an open mind. Whilst a nation, country, city, state, or backyard would do well to fortify a position behind lines of a “standing army” – it is the presence of a stable, educated base that provides the security of said entity’s liberty. In laymen’s terminology it simply states: A big army would surely protect a nation but eventually the mortality of man would make this protection fail – the strong are not “ever-strong”, but the educated and wise will prevail forever – the truly wise are “ever-wise” even post mortem. Knowing rights, responsibilities, tactics, methods, repercussions, outcomes, and idiosyncrasies of events always prepares and preserves that which has been previously obtained. Wisdom may be passed down from generation to generation by literary works, word of mouth, and art – it is in this that Strength fails for it cannot.
The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources. -Albert Einstein
This quote is funny to me, but it makes sense. Throughout my life, i've noticed many things that i do, people will put there own twist on it and call it their own. I've done this as well. Growing up, I did a lot of the same things my brother did, but i would put my own twist on it, and call it my own. He may have dressed a certain creative way, so i would dress similar, but with mild difference, and people would say how creative it was. He influenced me in listening to hard rock music, but i always have like a different style of hard rock than he did. Another thing that this happens a lot with is playuing music. I play the guitar, piano, saxophone, and drums, and much of the music i create sounds like some of my influences, but it is my own, and people seem to enjoy it.
